At present, Unified Payment Interface (UPI) has become a very famous mobile payment method in our country. New features are increasing in it. Now another new feature has been added through which you can now make UPI payment even if you do not have money in your bank account. The feature has been announced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) at the Global Fintech Fest and is currently available with some selected banks and UPI apps.
Credit Line On UPI
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced the inclusion of pre-sanctioned credit lines issued by banks in the UPI system. This means that now savings accounts, overdraft accounts, prepaid wallets, and RuPay credit cards can be linked to the UPI system.
UPI payment system was started in the year 2016
This system is operated by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). The UPI system is an instant payment system that requires only your mobile number, account number, UPI ID, or UPI QR code to send money to someone. Through UPI application you can do banking 24×7. To use UPI for online shopping you do not require OTP, CVV code, card number, expiry date, etc.
